Aberdeen Science Centre - Offshore Wind Weekend

Discover the world of offshore wind energy in this free, hands-on workshop exploring both floating and fixed wind turbines.
Participants will learn about wind energy and the parts of a wind turbine, then they will build a model wind turbine and test it out on floating and fixed bases. They’ll also learn about the full lifecycle of offshore wind projects by decommissioning their turbine at the end of the session.
This is a free workshop but advance booking is essential.
Ticket includes workshop only – to visit the Science Centre you must purchase admission tickets or be a STEM Passport holder.
Workshop attendees will receive 20% will receive 20% off on general admission to visit the Centre on the day of the workshop. To receive the discount simply show your workshop ticket confirmation at reception to receive the discount.
Workshop Times
- 10:15am – 11:15am
- 11:30am – 12:30pm
- 12:45pm – 1:45pm
- 2:00pm – 3:00pm
- 3:15pm – 4:15pm
All children must be accompanied by an adult in the workshop and both adults/children require tickets.
Workshop not suitable for children under 7.
