About Us

The Institution of Engineers in Scotland (IES) promotes the exchange of information, new thinking and encourages young engineers

For members, other engineers and those who aspire to be engineers: we organise activities that members, who come from a wide range of disciplines, enjoy and from which they learn. We are a multidisciplinary institution because we simply believe all should be curious to learn from others both inside and outside their own speciality. We promote engineering as a career.

For society and the environment: We show that the use of engineering principles can help to resolve complex issues that relate to society and the environment. We share the excitement and inspiration of engineering with all sectors of society.
