Managing delay claims in construction projects
20th May 2026 2:00 pm
Join Haris Katostaras, senior director at A&M and an experienced delay expert, as he presents a session on managing loss and expense claims in construction with a specific focus on delay.
This event explores why delays occur, from scope changes and design errors to tender inaccuracies, and how critical versus non-critical delays affect entitlement and project completion. It explains how to identify and evidence the critical path, referencing internationally recognised guidance documents commonly used for delay analysis.
The session also addresses practical pitfalls on both sides: poorly structured or exaggerated EOT claims, masking contractor delays, cursory client responses, and procedural stalling. Emphasis is placed on contractual compliance, timely notices, contemporaneous records, and proving cause-and-effect and costs on the balance of probabilities.
