ICE - Hinkley Point C - digging to power Britain

Hinkley Point C, the first nuclear power station built in the UK for a generation, provided complex technical challenges for the project team. One such challenge was the provision of cooling water to the plant.

In this talk, senior project director for marine works at Hinkley Point, Roger Frost, details how the Balfour Beatty team excavated under the Atlantic Ocean and built three enormous tunnels to provide the cooling water for Great Britain’s biggest nuclear power plant.
