Blue plaque for Professor MacQuorn Rankine unveiled!

On 17th of February a blue plaque was unveiled at a Glasgow golf club!

Following research by Dr Andy Pearson, it was discovered that Prof Rankine, one of the founders of the Institution of Engineers in Scotland once lived at Mossfarm Cottage.

The cottage is now part of Haggs Castle Golfclub!

Dr Pearson proposed installing a 'Blue Plaque' to commemorate the building, the suggestion was warmly received by the club.

On 17th February representatives of the golf club and IES gathered to have a small unveiling ceremony.

[this is the first public acknowledgement of Rankine's work and importance in the city]
