ICE - World Water Day 2024: water for peace and achieving SDG6

22nd March 2024 12:00 pm

The ICE London ECN (Early Careers Network) are delighted to present this online seminar to celebrate World Water Day.

Hear from the expert presenters who will discuss the challenges and opportunities of promoting peace through access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene, and showcase some inspiring projects and research working towards achieving UNSDG 6.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) is about “clean water and sanitation for all”. The goal aims to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation. It is one of the 17 SDGs established by the UN General Assembly in 2016.

This seminar will feature a presentation by Dr David Werner, from Newcastle University, on his research titled “A suitcase laboratory for advanced water microbiology”.

Following this, representatives from water industry charity Just a Drop will showcase the work they do at a grassroots level to support communities around the world with access to sustainable safe water solutions, sanitation facilities and knowledge of safe hygiene practices.

This will be followed by a third and final presentation, more details of which to come shortly.

This event will be held online and will include a short Q+A session following each presentation.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to hear and learn from some of the people behind these valuable and worthwhile projects as we stride towards achieving UN SDG6.
