IStructE - Averting disaster: How to save a collapsing building

20th September 2022 6:00 pm

This presentation will use case studies to outline how a partial collapse of a building was saved from becoming a disaster.

The lecture will showcase a forensic analysis of the events leading up to the partial collapse and shows how the first link in a chain of events for a building or aviation disaster can occur many years before the disaster actually happens.

Our expert presenter, who has dealt with damaged buildings since the 1970’s, will describe in detail an assessment of what to look for, and how a developing chain of events can be identified before it becomes a disaster.
