ICE - Water Pollution Prevention, online
9th September 2021 1:00 pm
Join ICE Hereford and Worcester branch for this presentation focused on key aspects from the Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA) guidance CIRIA 736 and how it can be applied to containment system designs.
CIRIA 736 was published in 2014 following the investigation into the Buncefield disaster, an explosion so great it was reported to be bigger than some experienced during WW2. It resulted in the contamination and permanent loss of an aquifer.
Presenter David Cole will explain best practice, new techniques and illustrate how the guidance from CIRIA 736 can be applied as environmental agencies around the world have been forced to look at how polluted surface run-off from commercial sites, highways, rail and ports can be managed and contained.
